Why this work matters to her
When Barb's youngest sister was diagnosed with a degenerative brain disorder as a teenager, the family spent the next two decades navigating a complex healthcare system largely alone. No advocates. No roadmap. No one translating what was happening into something they could actually understand and act on. Just two tenacious women — Barb and her mother — figuring it out as they went.
Even with everything they brought to it, it was harder than it needed to be.
She kept thinking about everyone doing this without the time, the information, or the support. About the families losing precious hours with their loved ones to confusion that didn't have to be there. About the decisions being made in the dark that could have been made with clarity.
That's not okay. And it's exactly why she does this work.
No family should have a harder ending than they need to — because they didn't know what they didn't know. That's her mission. And the Readiness Review Call is where it begins.
